Histerria

Histerria

Histerria, known throughout the world as The Unified Crown, is one of the oldest and most organized kingdoms in existence. Built upon law, noble obligation, religion, and military structure, the kingdom was designed not merely to survive, but to endure long after the gods themselves departed the mortal world.

Unlike many realms that formed through conquest, alliance, or centuries of political struggle, Histerria was created with unity in mind from the very beginning. At the dawn of the Third Prime Material Plane, after the Children of the World were shaped, Tarn, God of Family, Society, and Home, established Histerria as a singular kingdom under one crown. Its foundation was intentional: a realm built upon shared governance, structure, and societal stability.

From its earliest days, Histerria was governed by the Seven Great Families, each chosen during the Thousand Years of Reign to represent balance, diversity of thought, and the responsibilities required to maintain civilization. Rather than allowing succession to pass automatically through bloodline, the gods established a sacred system that remains in place to this day.

When a monarch dies, every town and territory across the kingdom casts its voice through regional representatives. These representatives gather to determine which of the Seven Great Families will ascend to the throne. The current head of the victorious family becomes the next ruler of Histerria. This tradition is viewed not only as law, but as divine mandate, one of the last surviving political structures directly established by the gods themselves.

Because of this foundation, Histerria remains highly centralized even centuries after the Divine Ascent:

– The crown maintains authority across the realm
– The Great Houses each serve defined kingdom-wide roles
– Law remains consistent throughout the kingdom
– Noble power exists beneath the authority of the throne

The kingdom is known for its:

– Powerful noble houses
– Strict legal systems
– Ancient fortresses
– Strong agricultural heartlands
– Legendary craftsmen
– Deep religious traditions

Though stable on the surface, Histerria exists in a world forever scarred by the Divine Ascent and the release of uncontrolled natural magic. Ancient ruins still linger beneath its mountains and forests, monsters roam beyond the safety of the roads.

Yet despite all of this, Histerria endures. Not because it is untouched by darkness, but because its people believe civilization itself is worth protecting.
